Philosophical Goals of the NPES Media Program Schedules

Basic Information

Our goals:

1. Promote the use of the Media Center as a place for individual and group study, reading, and educational enrichment.

2. Encourage students' responsibility by providing Media Skills instruction in the independent use of the Media Center

3. Plan with and assist the faculty in the utilization of all types of media and to correlate the use of the Media Center with classroom instruction.

Open/Flexible Schedule:

The NPES Media Center follows an open/flexible schedule which means that individuals or small groups (up to six) may come any time with media passes (which means they have teacher permission) and large groups (over six) or whole classes must sign up ahead of time. The open/flexible schedule concept allows for students and classes to come to the Media Center whenever there is a need or desire.
